Cashback Tutorial

Welcome to our simple step by step tutorial on how to use Star Cashback and how to ensure you earn cashback on your online purchases.

You can use the buttons below to navigate through the tutorial at your own pace, so - lets get started!

The first thing you should do when starting a shopping session online is to log in to Star Cashback using your email address and password. The first screen you see is your home screen which gives you a quick summary of your latest activity, how much cashback is in your account, a few new merchants, some news - just an overview of whats happening.

Down the left hand side of the site you will see a search box and a list of categories. If you know the website you are looking to purchase from, for example you may be looking to buy a CD from HMV.

You can find them quickly using the search option by simply entering the website name and clicking the search button.

Alternatively you can browse the categories, HMV would be found in the Entertainment category.

If you choose to find your merchant, or maybe see what other merchants sell similar products so you can maximise your cashback and try someone new you will see a screen similar to below.

As you can see the sites offering cashback are listed with an overview of their cashback offering. Across the top of the page you can see the sub categories of the main category you are viewing. You can also use the drop down menu on the right hand side to filter how the merchants are shown - by when they were added, how much cashback they offer, the popularity and a number of other filters.

When you are on a merchant page you will see a bit more detail about that merchant and the cashback they are offering Star Cashback members.

A number of merchants offer a range of cashback rates for different products or types of product, these are detailed under the merchant description. We also give you an overview of how quicky that merchant tracks and pays cashback - this should be used as a guide only but gives you a rough idea how long it may take to be paid.

We also allow you to add this merchant to a custom page in your account called 'your favourites'. This is a page that you can save all the stores you shop at regularly to so that in future its easy to find them.

And finally - the cashback link. The image on the right is where you click to visit the merchant site. This will open in a new window and will look exactly as it would if you had visited the site by typing in their url.
